Duke of Edinburgh’s Award helps Cardiac Rehab
Cardiac Rehab in Alton has recently received a donation from Ollie Neil, a student at Amery Hill School, who has spent the past three months on a fundraising challenge as part of his Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Ollie raised vital funds for the charity through sponsorship of the ‘Three Counties Challenge’ event, which he put together to celebrate the charity’s 40th anniversary year. He cycled, walked and kayaked in Hampshire, Dorset and The Lake District. Talking about the event, Ollie said “Friends and family members kindly sponsored the event and in total I raised £471.” General Manager, Martin Lovell added, “Each year we need to raise £250,000 to continue to help improve the heart health, fitness and wellbeing of those who have and those at risk of heart disease. Currently over £140,000 of that has to be generated through fundraising & events so we are hugely grateful for Ollie’s fundraising effort and donation.” Anyone wishing to make a donation to Cardiac Rehab should visit
