What’s the latest in the Cardiac Rehab Golf Society
10 Years of Cardiac Rehab Golf Society
Our final fixture of the year is at Blackmoor Golf Club on Wednesday 9th November 2016. We are very pleased to welcome Chris Youngs, Chairman of the Alton Cardiac Rehab Charity, and Martin Lovell, General Manager. On this special day, and hopefully all in good spirits after a great game of golf, we will be presenting a cheque to purchase equipment for the gym. The donation is from the funds all our society members have contributed to in recent years. We will raise a glass of wine to celebrate our 10 years and to remember Barry Spurgeon and Len Mills who founded the society.
A big thank you to all of you who have contributed over the years and here’s looking forward to 2017.
Barry Spurgeon
Barry Spurgeon co-founded the Cardiac Rehab Golf Society 10 years ago, with Len Mills. Sadly Barry passed away recently and a long illness and we are sure you will join us in offering his family our condolences. Barry was a great character and will be sadly missed. At our last fixture of the year at Blackmoor we will be raising a toast to Barry and remember all he did for us.
Tylney Park October 2016
Another balmy autumn day, the sun was shining and it was very warm for the time of year. The attachments below give the detailed results and the latest handicaps. There were a few cuts, but the course was a challenge to many of us, our highest score on the day was 36 points.
Congratulations to Martyn Lillywhite who was the overall winner (on count-back). Richard Butt was the winner of Division 1 and Adam Chambers (just lost out on count-back) was the Division 2 Winner. Diane Baycroft won the Ladies section.
