Insight into Post Office Horizon probe
Our next Annual Lecture takes place at The Alton Maltings on 26th November and tickets are selling fast.
This is your chance to hear from Kay Linnell, a chartered accountant and certified fraud examiner, practising as a forensic accountant and adviser to the Justice for Subpostmasters Alliance.
The Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry, which is entering its closing stages this Autumn, examined the wrongful convictions of postmasters and Kay Linnell was among those who gave further evidence.
Miss Linnell was immortalised in ITV’s smash hit drama series, Mr Bates vs The Post Office, broadcast over four consecutive days from 1st January 2024. (Pictured are the ensemble cast led by Toby Jones (JfSA), with Isobel Middleton (holding briefcase) as Kay Linnell).
A Fellow of the Expert Witness Institute and vice-chair of the EWI Board of Governors, Kay Linnell continues to fight for justice for those affected. In addition, Miss Linnell has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Sheffield, a PHD from the University of Portsmouth with her thesis on ‘Why businesses do not protect themselves against fraud and attitudes to fraud, and she lectures part time at Portsmouth University.
The lecture will be delivered jointly with Barbara Jeremiah, a company director of Kay Linnell and Co Ltd and Accounts Action Ltd., its subsidiary dedicated to clients in the performing and design arts. Barbara Jeremiah is a retired magistrate on the supplemental list and a retired nursing administrator, and her qualifications include an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University. She is also chief executive of Brick Kiln Industries.
